Typical tours are wooden boat tours like our 2h-Panoramic-Tour or much better: our Poseljani Tour or BEST: our unique All-Over-The-Skadar-Lake-Tour.

Anyway. all boat tours are good and our friends and competitors do a good job. We are one big family and all try our best to make your stay a perfect one.

Guide: Boat tours on Lake Skadar – prices, duration, best time

Typical prices for boat tours in Virpazar are:

20€ per person for a 2 hour shared tour - you book your slot and the Boat Operators puts other guests in as well.

Or 40€ per hour for a private tour.

Other places like Rijeka Crnojevića are more expensive.

Unfortunately, all our competitors tell all guests this: "2 hours is enough, anything else is boring sailing on the water." Ok, because they do that sailing a boat as a profession they BELIVE it is boring for tourists....but tourists loves gliding on the water.

And even more: All of our competitors have those traditional, wooden boat - which means: You do not make a great distance because they are really slow. That is why the tourists BELIEVE that 2 hour boat tours from Virpazar is the best option.

We KNOW that is completely wrong and invented the longer boat excursions from Virpazar; first that Poseljani waterfalls Adventure - everyone loves it,.

But furthermore, our unique All-Over-The-Skadar-Lake-Tour became our absolute burner and hit our guest's nerves: 60 to 70 kilometers of spot after spot. Gorgeous! Marvellous! Stunning. See the reviews.

Ok, continuing regards prices:

Prices depend heavily on fuel consumption. Diesel for the large, slow boats carrying over 50 guests is inexpensive— and a traditional, wooden boat, for example, consumes only about 5 liters per hour. Our speedboats require more gasoline, which is why for those tours the prices are higher; however, you also get to see significantly more.

What is the best time of year for a boat tour on Lake Skadar?

Apart from winter — the period from late November to late February, when there is plenty of rain and wind (which explains why Montenegro is so wonderfully green) — any time is actually a good time for boat trips.

March is excellent for birdwatching. April is already ideal for adventure: it is not yet too hot, but pleasantly warm. June and October are the perfect months for boat tours, as the peak heat has passed. However, even during the high season—July, August, and September—you will love the delightful sunshine and life on board; you can jump into the water to cool off, and it is warm enough to spend the entire day in the water.

In short: take a boat tour at any time of year except winter. Go on several excursions throughout the year and witness how nature transforms with the changing seasons.

By the way: Any of our tours includes stops for swimming in the lake. Some tours like the
Poseljani Tour or our unique All-Over-The-Skadar-Lake-Tour have even two swim stops.
